VOice Lessons

 Voice Studio

I am now back to teaching students in person at my home studio in the Montrose area of Glendale. I am also happy to teach lessons via Zoom or FaceTime, but nothing beats in- person lessons for maximum learning and diagnostic listening.

I’ve had the honor of working with many wonderful, expert teachers over the years. In my own teaching, I endeavor to bring the best of what I’ve learned from my mentors to help each student reach their individual goals. I continue to study voice to find new, healthy ideas that help my students.

Every singer and voice is unique. I firmly believe there is no “one size fits all” way to teach vocal technique, but the basic elements of healthy singing are the same, no matter what style of singing you’re doing.

Some of the main ideas I work with are:

  • Good body alignment

  • Open acoustical space

  • Relaxed and full breath

  • Optimum “onset” or start of the voice

  • Equalized air flow

  • Musicality and expression through text

 These ideas allow students to:

  • Extend their voice’s range low to high

  • Increase breath control to sing longer phrases

  • Increase their voice’s volume and resonance

  • Sing with consistent and beautiful tone

  • Create emotionally connected and interesting performances

Lesson Fees

30 minute mini-lesson                  $40

Covid Safety Protocols

All students must be healthy when attending in-person lessons. If a student is under the weather, I am happy to teach them via Zoom or FaceTime as an alternative. Likewise, I will only teach if I am healthy. I am fully vaccinated and boosted, as are the people in my household, and test regularly. I keep my studio windows open and use a HEPA air filter to maximize ventilation during lessons.

Cancelation Policy

I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours notice will be billed at the full rate.
